SSA defines Social Security disability as not being able to work as one did before, not being able to find work with a medically verified medical condition(s), AND the disability has lasted or is expected to last 12 consecutive months or will result in death. Below are some items which may be specific to Arizona.
Blindness - an individual who has no vision or acuity, has a central acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with single corrective lens, and peripheral field is limited to 20 degrees.
Permanent Disability - a continuous physical or mental impairment with medical evidence showing no improvement.
Totally Disabied - involves additional considerations, such as, age, training, skills, and work experience, and the probable functioning of the individual in his/her particular situation in light of his/her impairment.
