SSA defines Social Security disability as not being able to work as one did before, not being able to find work with a medically verified medical condition(s), AND the disability has lasted or is expected to last 12 consecutive months or will result in death. Below are some items which may be specific to Arkansas.
Blindness - an individual who has a central acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with corrective lens, and peripheral field is limited to 20 degrees.
Permanent Disability - permanent disability refers to a physiological or anatomical impairment verifiable by medical findings. The impairment must be of major importance and must be a condition which will not improve and which will continue throughout the lifetime of the individual.
Totally Disabied - involves additional considerations, such as, age, training, skills, and work experience, and the probable functioning of the individual in his/her particular situation in light of his/her impairment.
