South Carolina Disability

SSA defines Social Security disability as not being able to work as one did before, not being able to find work with a medically verified medical condition(s), AND the disability has lasted or is expected to last 12 consecutive months or will result in death. Below are some items which may be specific to South Carolina.

Blindness - an acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with correction or if their best visual field is reduced to 20 degrees.

Disability - a mental or physical impairment or a combination of impairments which preclude his engaging in substantially gainful employment within his competence.

Permanent Disability - physical or mental impairment or a combination of both which will likely continue during the lifetime of the individual or which will not improve in the foreseeable future insofar as medical findings can tell.
