Kansas Disability

SSA defines Social Security disability as not being able to work as one did before, not being able to find work with a medically verified medical condition(s), AND the disability has lasted or is expected to last 12 consecutive months or will result in death. Below are some items which may be specific to Kansas.

Blindness - an individual who has an acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with corrective lens or visual field efficiency reduced to 20 degrees or less.

Disability - a permanent, total impairment of such severity that the individual requires assistance from another person in performing the normal activities of daily living.

Permanent Disability - a physiological, anatomical, mental or emotional impairment verifiable by medical findings.

Total Disability - an impairment so severe as to substantially preclude engagement in a useful occupation including homemaking.
